Fix Viewfinder Ending Bug Report (Needed Game Restart)
Viewfinder is a new single player game offering gamers hours of interesting and fun experiences while uncovering the mysteries left behind.
Bug Report Introduction
I wanted to report a bug, possibly two separate bugs, in the final level of the game. I will try to describe it spoiler-free.
First Bug: Clipping Through the Floor
Upon entering the cage, I somehow managed to end up partially clipped into the floor. I was still able to reach the level, so I clicked on it. However, I ended up falling through the floor, resulting in a black screen with a white dot in the middle. Additionally, I couldn’t hear Cait’s penultimate dialogue, although I could still read it through the subtitles. It was clear that something had gone wrong, as I couldn’t enter the final teleporter. Eventually, I realized that I needed to restart the level using the Esc menu.
Second Bug: Game Lock Up
Upon reaching that point again after restarting the level, the floor clipping did not occur. However, upon interacting with the final teleporter, the game locked up. Cait’s final lines did not play, and the camera did not pan up to them. I tried restarting the level through the Esc menu, but it didn’t work. In fact, nothing worked except closing and reopening the game. It seems like this bug might be related to restarting the final level using the Esc menu in the final room.
Conclusion
These bugs in the final level of Viewfinder are preventing players from completing the game successfully. The first bug involves clipping through the floor, which results in a black screen and the inability to progress. The second bug triggers a game lockup when interacting with the final teleporter, preventing the player from proceeding or restarting the level using the in-game menu. To fully enjoy the game and experience its ending, it is essential that these bugs are fixed.
